The Chinatown Festival at Ma Chung University celebrates the fusion of Indonesian and Chinese arts and culture.

The dusk sky is reddish purple, combined with yellowish red lanterns. Beautifully lit along the area. People pass by, some visit the sales booths, watch art attractions such as barongsai and leang leong, wushu, to dance performances. Such is the excitement of the 2024 Chinatown Festival.In another section, a dozen original Chinese musical instruments are showcased to complement the festivity of the event. There are also photos and traditional clothing displayed there.

“I like listening to and playing any kind of traditional music, including gamelan. Currently, I am focusing on playing this Chinese musical instrument because I collect them. I bought it directly from China,” said Ivander. The Vice Rector III of Ma Chung University, Wawan Eko Yulianto, who is also the Chairman of the Kampung Pecinan Festival 2024, stated that the festival is part of the special events series for the 17th anniversary of Ma Chung University in 2024.

In addition to art performances, this festival also presents more than 50 culinary booths offering unique flavors from China and Indonesia. There are also health check booths available for the community.
